Hon’ble Governor of Tamilnadu Thiru Banwarilal Purohit, launched KANCHI – Kisan AdvaNcement through CasHless Innovation, a digital farmer financial inclusion platform for the benefit of farmers, rural women and their organizations at Raj Bhavan on 14.3.2018. During the occasion, he also distributed the digital share certificates to the members of Farmer Producer Organizations promoted by NAF in Tamilnadu.
KANCHI was developed by National Agro Foundation, a NGO working for the upliftment of farmers and rural community across 5 states in India and Flexicode Technologies Limited, a Chennai based software company with support from New Delhi based Center for Digital Financial Inclusion.
The platform aims to bridge the gap between formal financial institutions and the rural community especially farmers and women and improving access to credit from banks through credible transaction history, enabling cashless transactions of business operations of SHGs, Dairy Cooperatives, Farmers Groups and FPOs. This would help bankers to serve rural customers better.
The platform will also help in share management system of FPOs wherein small and marginal farmers are shareholders, Lending and Recovery of loans of SHGs and FPOs as well as transactions of milk aggregators of dairy cooperative.
